  • Fitness for work
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Sickness absence
  • Performance reviews
  • Ill health retirement

We have seen significant changes in the workplace and the ways in which we work over the last few years. People are working for longer – the number of people aged 60-64 in full-time employment is currently about 38% – which has been helped by advances in modern medicine, meaning that people with significant health issues are able to keep enjoying the benefits of good work.

Changes in working practices, also mean that the modern workplace presents employees with a new set of challenges and stresses, which has changed the range of work-related medical conditions presenting to occupational health.

Whilst a healthy workforce is essential for the optimum efficiency and productivity of your business, unfortunately, many employers do not have access to good quality occupational health. Proteus Occupational Medicine Services will advise you to ensure that you are meeting your duty of care responsibilities as an employer, as well as any statutory legal obligations to your employees.

Our standard management referral appointment includes an initial consultation lasting 45 mins to 1hr – this can be conducted remotely if appropriate – with a letter back to the manager, addressing specific questions relating to: fitness for work, reasonable adjustments, and the Equality Act (2010). A 15-minute follow-up call with the manager is also included, to answer any questions. Answers to additional management questions are charged on a pro-rata basis.

Roundtable meetings and case conferences can also be arranged, in addition to more complex casework and support to employment tribunals.

If you feel that we can help you or your business, through the provision of high-quality occupational health services, please contact us directly to discuss your needs.

During his time he oversaw the provision of OH services to a number of businesses across the Macclesfield and Greater Manchester area, from medium-scale manufacturing and wholesale to a larger multinational communications organisation.
